quiet breathing

Pirrin Francis

March – April 2018

Town Hall Underground

Navigating dream cartography and performative actions, quiet breathing is a solo exhibition by Pirrin Francis exploring connection, distance, and what lies between.

Pirrin Francis is a Hobart-based artist who works with installation, text, photography, sound, moving image and sculpture. Her practice is concerned with compiling and re-constructing personal narratives to create spaces where reality and imagination intersect. These stories arise out of lived experiences as well as an interest in mythologies and the natural environment.

Francis graduated from QUT with first class honours in 2011, and has exhibited nationally and internationally in solo, group and collaborative exhibitions in Brisbane, Melbourne and Lille (France).
