Monotony Bay  | Evelyn

SOLO ARTS TAS 2024
A solo exhibition of works by Evelyn Bryan

Curated by Tüli Morris-Merkel & Yumemi Hiraki

Writing by Esther Touber

Graphic Design by Brianna Cassidy

Monotony Bay invites you to step into Evelyn's world, where mundane routines of the everyday transform into realms of reflection, interaction, and wonder. In this exhibition, the line between the physical and mental blurs, as familiar faces become patterned backdrops, streets become animated embraces and we are bewitched by fantastic strangers. These mundane commutes now take on a hypnotic allure. From #stephwallpaper to cubist ball pits, evil gay drag to sandwich sundays, Monotony Bay is a portal into their constant works in progress.

The invitation here is simple: plunge into Evelyn’s playful space, where the bay is square, yet fluid, and their ideas are ever unfolding, in a constant state of flux.
