Holding Space
Constance ARI presents HOLDING SPACE; a project space and residency program delivered in collaboration with the UTAS School of Creative Arts & Media (CAM).
RESIDENCY #1 | 5 August - 27 September 2024
A part of their HOLDING SPACE residency, Graham Prichard has been working on a series of light chambers. The work brings imagery from several well-lit spaces into a single dark chamber, similar to a Camera Obscura. The structure can be manipulated by the viewer to translate matter and space into still image.
OPEN STUDIO | Mon-Fri, 23-27 September, 1-6pm daily
Holding Space will be open for public viewing each afternoon. Graham will be in the space talk with you about his project, and to guide you through interacting with the emerging work.
CLOSING EVENT | Friday 27 September, 5-7PM

Constance ARI works across Country cared for by the Palawa of lutruwita and the Tasmanian Aboriginal Community. We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout the so called ‘Australia’, as well as First Nations people from elsewhere, and their deep connection to the lands, skies and waterways over which sovereignty was never ceded. We pay our respect to all Elders; we are grateful for their continued sharing of knowledge and Culture.
