100 years on, Jewelled Nights returns as a fabulous disruption. This installation and participatory performance revives the shared history of author Marie Bjelke Petersen and Hollywood silent film actress Louise Lovely, two artists who broke gender roles while producing the first major feature film in Lutruwita/Tasmania.

Jewelled Nights tells the story of a woman disguising herself as a man to seek her fortune in the wild osmiridium mines of Savage River. Marie Bjelke Petersen became a pioneer of one of the world's first exercise regimes: the Bjelke-Petersen School of Physical Culture.
