Main space: Team Textiles – Party Portraits

Team Textiles are artists Mae Finlayson, Abigayle Tett and Ashley Bird. We live and work in Launceston, Tasmania where we occupy a studio space located at Sawtooth ARI.

We create audience-activated artworks using textile construction techniques such as knit, stitch, weave, twisting and knots. Our practice is experimental in nature and often involves open-ended objectives where public participation is facilitated to explore and extend the work.

To celebrate the launch of Constance ARI, Team Textiles invite you to join a ferocious session of wild party hat making. Wearing your marvellous creation, you will then enter our photo booth where you will be styled and posed to emulate the quintessentially formal “Family Portrait”. Party Portraits will be printed and displayed in the gallery and will also be available for you to take home and keep.
