Trans-

An exhibition of screen based and installation work by 2nd year Emedia students from the University of Tasmania, School of Art
Defined primarily through the use of electronic media, the Emedia studio at the University of Tasmania, School of Art encompasses a diverse range of artistic practices which incorporate sound, video, 2D/3D animation, photography, sculpture, installation, the web and interactivity in its many incarnations. In 2004 the studio attracted a group of students from diverse backgrounds, ranging from school leavers in their late teens to established artists, designers, musicians, trades people and professionals seeking to develop an arts practice in new media.
The students in Trans- are at an exciting stage in their artistic development. As 2nd year students they have attained a level of technical proficiency which allows them to competently work with their media to present their individual concerns and aesthetic sensibilities. Trans- is an opportunity to view work completed during their 2004 academic course.
INFLIGHT is commitment to supporting young and emerging artists. This exhibition follows on from Pollies Unsaturated, and marks the second installment in a series of week-long exhibitions of undergraduate students work presented at the INFLIGHT Gallery during November.
